Best friend or arch enemy? The relationship between cats and dogs is an age old battle but is it always a battle are there canines and felines that have worked out how to be friends with one another?

For many dogs if they have not been raised alongside a cat they will not be persuaded that cats can be friends, they do not wish to view the cute little moggy who lives next-door as a friend but rather as ‘prey’! It is the same for cats, unless they are brought up around dogs they will generally live in fear of them.

Some of the best friendships between dogs and cats are formed when they are both young, puppies and kittens have never heard the ‘rule’ that they are not supposed to actually like each other let alone live together. The advantage with a puppy is the fact that whilst he/she is still so young the brain works like a sponge and literally absorbs all the information you can put its way. It is the same for a kitten.
